Course Description
This course is an intensive clinical experience in the diagnosis and treatment of severe and incapacitating psychiatric disorders. The student is given more clinical responsibility than the comparable second year inpatient rotation. Patient care responsibilities include management of ward milieu. Treatment approaches emphasizing psychotropic medication, individual, and family psychotherapy are part of the clinical experience.
